In the 1920’s, Anton Sattler, lnc. painted the Emily Trevor townhouse, a small jewel of an American Georgian residence on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Sixty years later, the company completely restored the interior for the new owner, bringing the townhouse into the 1990’s while retaining its original style. In the updated version (left), gilding was added and interior colors changed to lighten and freshen the rooms.
For a country estate, Anton Sattler, Inc. took a new home and “restored” it to an earlier time and place. The wood paneling of the upper floor hallway has been faux-painted towards that effect.
